All of this slick presentation might be an try to distract with the glibness of the text. None of those Thoughts hold up to a second's reflection. Such as, why is this a key? Presumably another person has conspired to maintain this hidden from humanity, but we're never provided a proof of who that is certainly, or what their drive is likely to be.
